GAZ-51A
GAZ-51 – the most mass produced Soviet truck of 50-70-s. Payload 2,5 tons. Designing of the car, first named GAZ-11-51, subsequently simply GAZ-51 started in February 1937. Successful test drives made it possible to start in 1941 preparation for serial production, but the WWII ruined the plans. Initial batch was released in late 1945, and by the end of 1946, even before the testing was completed, more than thirty thousand trucks had been produced. Within the short period GAZ-51 became the most popular truck all over the country. GAZ-51 was produced for more than 30 years - his production was cancelled in 1975. GAZ GL-1
The first "factory made" racing car in the history of domestic auto industry, GL-1 was built on the Gorky car factory. Design of it was by Eugene Agitov. KIM-10-50 was the first Soviet economy class car, designed on the basis of the British 1939 year "Ford Prefect". Body design was created by designer-engineer V.Brodsky from the Gorky city.
