140101 Moskvich 401-422 "Woody"

Moskvitch-401-422 is the soviet economy class car produced from 1947 up to 1956 year.
On the basis of the standard model Moscow Auto Factory produced vans for small cargo lots, and curiously enough, containers with coins for public phone booths. The body of the car was partly wooden with cargo part made of birch beams with plywood panels. The roof was covered with imitation-leather cloth.
At first, in 1947 the vans were equipped with the type “400” engine, and starting from 1954 – with type “401”. Within 10 years factory has produced 11129 units. Moreover, at the same time there were manufactured 2562 chassis, on which other factory mounted bodies with steel plated wooden framework.
