GAZ-51A
GAZ-51 – the most mass produced Soviet truck of 50-70-s. Payload 2,5 tons. Designing of the car, first named GAZ-11-51, subsequently simply GAZ-51 started in February 1937. Successful test drives made it possible to start in 1941 preparation for serial production, but the WWII ruined the plans. Initial batch was released in late 1945, and by the end of 1946, even before the testing was completed, more than thirty thousand trucks had been produced. Within the short period GAZ-51 became the most popular truck all over the country. GAZ-51 was produced for more than 30 years - his production was cancelled in 1975. There were released 3 481 033 vehicles. More »
